Jeannine Manuel Foundation

Promoting international understanding through a bilingual education

The Jeannine Manuel Foundation was established in 2004 under the aegis of the Fondation de France. The Foundation’s mission is to support Ecole Jeannine Manuel and other nonprofit bilingual schools with similar objectives.

What does the Fondation do?

Ongoing projects

The Foundation helps fund new pedagogical initiatives at École Jeannine Manuel, as well as in other private and public schools with a similar mission as our school. Fondation-funded initiatives include the Simon Kasha program for high-potential students and the school’s meditation and wellbeing curriculum.

The Growing Together initiative seeks to increase the number of students from socio-economic backgrounds that are underrepresented in the student body, especially those from minority and/or immigrant backgrounds. These students receive a bursary as well as individual support and teaching at school.

The Foundation funds need-based scholarships for students who can only achieve their full academic potential in the International Baccalaureate track, either due to their late arrival in France or insufficient French language skills, and whose families are unable to afford the full tuition.

This includes giving financial support to student activities ranging from partnerships with cultural institutions (Théâtre de l’Odéon, Comédie Française, The Globe Theatre, Théâtre de la Colline), to the sponsorship of concerts, trips, workshops, or sporting events such as the International School League.

With the generous support of the Foundation, École Jeannine Manuel’s London school opened its doors in September 2015 at 43-45 Bedford Square. The school’s highschool premises opened in Russell Square in 2019. It currently welcomes students from Pre-K to Year 13.

The Paris Gala & London Charity Dinner are the main annual fundraising events for the Foundation. They are key opportunities for all stakeholders within the school community to come together in support of the school’s ongoing programs and new initiatives.
